Nikita Mazepin Successfully Overturns EU Sanctions

The General Court of the European Union ruled that the family connection to his father, Dmitry Mazepin, does not justify continued sanctions against the former F1 driver.

Nikita Mazepin, previously sanctioned by the EU following Russia's invasion of Ukraine, has had those sanctions lifted by the General Court of the European Union.
The court found the association with his father, a known ally of Vladimir Putin, insufficient for maintaining sanctions.
Despite the EU ruling, sanctions imposed by the UK and Canada against Mazepin remain in place.
Mazepin was removed from his Formula 1 team, Haas, in 2022 due to the sanctions and has since participated in the Asian Le Mans Series.
Mazepin is challenging the sanctions in other jurisdictions, hoping to return to Formula 1 racing.
