Nike Launches Vegam Run, Its First Running Shoe Designed for India

Built from Indian runner feedback in a 55-day development cycle, the shoe will sell at Rs. 3,795 to widen Nike’s reach in India’s growing running market.

Overview

  • Nike announced the Vegam Run on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2026, calling it the brand’s first running shoe created specifically for the Indian market.
  • The shoe uses an engineered mesh upper, full-length foam cushioning, and a stacked textured rubber outsole intended for breathability, daily running and all-day wear.
  • Nike priced the Vegam Run at Rs. 3,795 and will begin sales on November 1 through Flipkart and select stores, with wider national distribution planned for spring 2027 and international rollouts later in 2027.
  • Nike says the Vegam Run moved from design brief to finished product in 55 days, a rapid timeline the company credits to closer alignment of product, marketplace and manufacturing teams.
  • The launch is part of a broader India push that includes a Mumbai Indians kit partnership, a new Bengaluru campus and event-linked colourways, a strategy that could make running gear more affordable for everyday participants and help Nike grow in a large, fast-expanding market.
