Nike Installs New Regional Chiefs for EMEA, China and APLA in Turnaround Push

CEO Elliott Hill says the internal appointments are meant to accelerate the company’s “Sport Offense” strategy.

Overview

  • César Garcia will become vice president and general manager of EMEA on Feb. 2, succeeding Carl Grebert, who is retiring after nearly 30 years.
  • Angela Dong will leave her Greater China post on March 31, with 25-year Nike veteran Cathy Sparks appointed as the new VP/GM for the region.
  • Cristin “Crissy” Campbell will serve as interim VP/GM of APLA and will join Nike’s Senior Leadership Team.
  • Hill framed the moves as advancing “Win Now” priorities and sharpening execution as the company works to rebuild momentum in China after a reported 17% sales decline in December.
  • The changes were outlined in an internal note that also served as a public announcement, extending Hill’s ongoing leadership reshuffle since taking the CEO role.
