Nigeria Says Troops Kill 11 ISWAP Fighters in Borno and Adamawa, Seize 14 Motorcycles

  • Troops on patrol near Garin Giwa in Borno repelled an ambush that began with an IED blast, killing eight ISWAP fighters including two senior field commanders, according to the joint task force.

  • A separate operation in Umbo, Madagali LGA of Adamawa, conducted with support from local vigilantes and hunters, killed three militants and yielded weapons and communication gear.
  • The military reported no casualties among Nigerian forces in either engagement.
  • Army officials identified three slain commanders as Modu Dogo (Munzir of Dogon Chukun), another unnamed Munzir and Abu Aisha Qaid of Tumbun Mota, and said recent operations also led to 26 arrests, victim rescues and the recovery of 109 rustled cattle.
