Nicki Minaj has postponed the release of her highly-anticipated album 'Pink Friday 2' to December 8, which coincides with her 41st birthday. The album release was initially planned for Nov. 17.
The postponement of the album release was primarily due to issues with vinyl copies shipment. Minaj's label was unable to receive the vinyl copies in time for the initially planned release date.
Another reason for the delay is due to Lil Wayne's simultaneous album release on the original date, but Minaj clarified that this wasn't a planned move to push back her album. Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz's joint album 'Welcome 2 Collegrove' is set to drop on Nov. 17.
Amid the delay, announcements for Minaj's 2024 tour and the release of her 'Pink Friday 2' fragrance are still planned to continue on Nov. 17.
The 'Super Bass' rapper stated that 'Pink Friday 2' promises to be 'the biggest gift I’ve ever given humanity thus far' after five years of work, following a period of writer’s block during her pregnancy in 2020.
