The album includes a variety of samples from pop classics, including Blondie’s 'Heart of Glass', Cyndi Lauper’s 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun', and Billie Eilish’s 'when the party’s over'.
Minaj's fans, known as the Barbz, have created a fan-generated, A.I. universe called 'Gag City' as part of the album's online rollout, featuring futuristic pink landscapes.
The track 'Everybody', a collaboration with Lil Uzi Vert, is predicted to be a major hit, featuring a sample from Danish pop duo Junior Senior's 2002 dance classic 'Move Your Feet'.
Despite a five-year hiatus, Minaj's new album is seen as a return to form, traversing through sonic corners of hip-hop, R&B, and pop.
