Overview
- A California jury, which returned its verdict Friday, found Pasqual guilty on all counts including attempted murder, forcible rape, first-degree residential burglary, and three counts of injuring a partner, with special allegations for great bodily injury and use of a weapon.
- Prosecutors said he broke into makeup artist Allie Shehorn’s Sunland home at about 4:30 a.m. on May 23, 2024, and stabbed her more than 20 times.
- After the attack, Pasqual fled California and was detained at a U.S.–Mexico border checkpoint in Sierra Blanca, Texas, before being returned to Los Angeles to face trial.
- Shehorn testified with visible scars and had obtained a restraining order days before the assault after reporting prior abuse, including a May 18 arrest of Pasqual on a domestic-violence-related charge.
- The verdict followed a trial from April 27 to May 8 and has sharpened attention on domestic violence cases in which victims seek court protection shortly before severe attacks.
