- Kooyong Classic director Peter Johnston confirmed Kyrgios will play the Jan. 13–15 exhibition as his final preparation for the Australian Open.
- Kyrgios is ranked 666th and, with his injury-protected status gone since Nov. 10, will require wildcards for Australian summer events including the Open.
- His lead-in slate includes World Tennis League dates, U.S. exhibitions against Ben Shelton and Tommy Paul, and a Dec. 28 Dubai match versus Aryna Sabalenka.
