Nick Dunlap Makes Pro Debut at Pebble Beach Following Historic Win
The 20-year-old golfer, who recently became the first amateur to win a PGA Tour event since 1991, has turned pro and is now focusing on learning from his experiences and mentors on the PGA Tour.
- Nick Dunlap, 20, is making his professional debut at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, two weeks after becoming the fifth amateur to win a PGA Tour event since 1940 and the first since Phil Mickelson in 1991.
- Dunlap's historic victory at the American Express tournament earned him PGA Tour status through 2026, as well as entry into the Masters, the PGA Championship, and the U.S. Open.
- Following his win, Dunlap withdrew from the Farmers Invitational at Torrey Pines and returned to Alabama, where he decided to turn pro and leave his amateur status and education at Alabama behind.
- Dunlap has been preparing for his pro debut by playing practice rounds with world no. 1 Scottie Scheffler and Sam Burns, as well as using his experience playing Pebble Beach on a PGA Tour PlayStation game.
- While Dunlap is still figuring out his playing schedule and whether he will continue to take classes or drop them for the semester, he is focused on learning as much as he can from his experiences and mentors on the PGA Tour.
