Overview

  • The 2,000-book donation from Cave’s personal collection once starred in the Stranger Than Kindness art installation, offering a window into his philosophical and musical influences.
  • Since July 18, about 800 volumes spanning philosophy, fiction, history and music biography have been priced and displayed at standard charity rates.
  • Hundreds of fans have queued on Blatchington Road scavenging for personal items such as boarding passes, envelope inscriptions and margin notes.
  • Store manager Richard says the remaining 1,200 books will be catalogued and put on sale by mid-week.
  • Cave is currently touring and his publicist has declined further comment, stating he prefers discoveries to remain intriguing mysteries.
