Nice Moulins Shooting Leaves 2 Dead as Police Hunt Gunmen in Suspected Narco Attack

Investigators say the burst of fire near a drug point likely targeted indiscriminately, with several victims unconnected to trafficking.

  • Two victims, born in 1966 and 2005, were killed; five others including minors born in 2008 and 2011 were wounded, and none remained in life-threatening condition as of Saturday.
  • No arrests have been made; prosecutors opened a flagrant inquiry for homicides and attempted homicides in an organized gang, led by SIPJ 06 with DCOS and zonal police services co-assigned.
  • Roughly 60 CRS officers are reinforcing the area within a security presence of over 100 personnel, and a medico-psychological support cell has been set up for residents.
