Overview
- NICE named six platforms — Activate Your Heart, D REACH-HF, Digital Heart Manual, Gro Health HeartBuddy, KiActiv and myHeart — in its draft guidance.
- The services deliver exercise, education, diet, medication and psychological support, with some using wearable devices to track activity.
- NHS use is permitted for three years to gather evidence on long-term effectiveness, uptake across patient groups and cost-effectiveness.
- Access depends on a clinical assessment, with NICE highlighting the need for extra help for older people, disabled patients, people experiencing homelessness and non‑English speakers.
- Seven other platforms — Beat Better, Datos Health, Get Ready, Luscii Vitals, Pumping Marvellous Cardiac Rehab Platform, R Plus Health and Sword Move — are currently for research use only, and public consultation on the draft closes on 3 September.
