NIA Seizes Pistol, Shotgun and Cash in Vaishali Raid Linked to 2024 Bihar Arms Case

Investigators say the operation targets a trafficking network linking Nagaland suppliers to buyers across Bihar.

  • Agents searched the Vaishali home of accused Sandeep Kumar Sinha, also known as Chhotu Lala, on Wednesday.
  • The team recovered a 9 mm pistol, two pistol magazines, 18 live 9 mm cartridges, a double-barrel 12-bore gun, 35 live 12-bore cartridges and Rs 4.21 lakh in cash.
  • Officials describe Sinha as a close associate of prime accused Vikash Kumar and an active member of the trafficking network.
  • The case began with the recovery of an AK-47 rifle and live rounds in Bihar, after which the NIA took over the probe in August 2024.
  • Four suspects have been arrested and chargesheeted, another accused named Manjoor Khan was recently held and lodged in Beur Jail, and the agency says further investigation is underway to identify the full network.
