Overview
- The NIA, backed by Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF, executed simultaneous searches at 32 addresses across Shopian, Kulgam, Pulwama, Sopore, Baramulla and Kupwara.
- Officials targeted homes of hybrid terrorists and overground workers linked to Pakistan-based outfits such as The Resistance Front, United Liberation Front J&K and Mujahideen Gazwat-ul-Hind.
- Raids yielded two live cartridges, a fired bullet head, a bayonet and numerous digital devices containing incriminating data and documents.
- Investigators say Pakistan-based operatives used social media, online apps and drones to radicalise local youth and deliver arms to cadres in the Kashmir Valley.
- The action furthers a 2022 NIA case probing ties between Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed and their offshoots and follows scrutiny of the Pahalgam and Reasi terror attacks.
