NIA Raids 22 Sites Across Five States and J&K in Terror Conspiracy Probe

Investigators say the sweep seeks evidence linking suspected operatives to cross-border handlers.

  • Separate teams carried out simultaneous searches based on actionable intelligence with support from state police and the CRPF.
  • Eight sites in Bihar, two in Uttar Pradesh, and one each in Karnataka, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu were searched, along with nine locations in Jammu and Kashmir.
  • In Jammu and Kashmir, searches included Budgam, Kulgam, Pattan, Pulwama, Kangan, Baramulla and Anantnag, with a raid at the Pattan residence of Umer Rashid Lone.
  • Officials said electronic devices, documents and communication records were seized for forensic examination.
  • The case, registered as RC-1/2025/NIA/CHE, follows a June 5 sweep across J&K and includes linked NIA probes into the 2024 Reasi and Pahalgam attacks.
