The operation targets radicalization, recruitment, and terror financing linked to JeM operative Sheikh Sultan Salah Uddin Ayubi.

  • The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted searches at 19 locations across Assam, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Jammu and Kashmir.
  • The raids were part of an investigation into a terror conspiracy involving the Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) group.
  • Sheikh Sultan Salah Uddin Ayubi, a JeM operative arrested in October, is accused of radicalizing youth and spreading jihadist propaganda via social media and encrypted platforms.
  • Investigators uncovered a terror financing network, with Rs 14 crore allegedly funneled to Ayubi through a banking outlet in Assam over several years.
  • The operation resulted in the seizure of incriminating documents, electronic devices, and the questioning of multiple suspects connected to Ayubi and the JeM network.
