NIA Files Supplementary Chargesheet Against Five in Chhattisgarh Maoist Explosives Case

Overview

• The supplementary chargesheet, filed in the NIA Special Court in Jagdalpur, names arrested Manish Sodhi and absconders Sodhi Kesa, Manila, Madkam Kesa and Sodhi Lakhma, all from Sukma district.
• Investigators say the seized materials were intended for PLGA Battalion No. 1 in the Jagargunda area to assemble IEDs targeting security forces.
• With this filing, the NIA has chargesheeted seven individuals in total, following Sodhi’s arrest in July 2025.
• The case began after state police arrested Mantosh Mandal and S. Nagarjun on September 25, 2024, leading to seizures including tiffin bombs, detonators, potassium nitrate and aluminium powder.
• The NIA, which assumed the case in December 2024, is pursuing leads on the supply network, alleged terror funds and the suspected primary source of arms while seeking the four fugitives.
