NIA Conducts Raids Across South India in BJP Leader Murder Investigation

The National Investigation Agency searched 16 locations to track absconding suspects linked to the 2022 killing of BJP Yuva Morcha leader Praveen Nettaru.

The NIA raided 16 locations across Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala as part of its probe into the 2022 murder of BJP leader Praveen Nettaru.
Nettaru was killed on July 26, 2022, in Dakshina Kannada district by two motorcycle-borne assailants in what officials believe was a targeted act of terror.
The raids focused on gathering evidence on six absconding suspects, some of whom are believed to have international connections.
The NIA has already filed a 1,500-page charge sheet against 20 individuals, with 14 in custody and six still at large.
Authorities suspect the Popular Front of India (PFI) of orchestrating the murder as part of a broader agenda of communal violence and unrest.
