Overview

• The NIA raided 16 locations across Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala as part of its probe into the 2022 murder of BJP leader Praveen Nettaru.
• Nettaru was killed on July 26, 2022, in Dakshina Kannada district by two motorcycle-borne assailants in what officials believe was a targeted act of terror.
• The raids focused on gathering evidence on six absconding suspects, some of whom are believed to have international connections.
