NIA Charges Trio in Punjab’s SBS Nagar Police Post Grenade Attack Linked to KZF

The chargesheet exposes UK-based handlers’ use of Canada-based channels to fund the December assault

  • On June 14, the NIA filed a chargesheet against Yugpreet Singh, Jaskaran Singh and Harjot Singh for the December 1–2, 2024 grenade attack on Police Post Asron in SBS Nagar
  • The accused face charges under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and the Explosive Substances Act following their recruitment by Jagjit Singh Lahiri in the UK
  • Investigators traced over ₹4.36 lakh in terror funds routed through Canada and confirmed the grenade was supplied by foreign handlers in November 2024
  • The NIA took over the case from Punjab Police in March 2025 and has widened its probe to include KZF chief Ranjit Singh and other unidentified operatives
  • The ongoing investigation aims to dismantle the Khalistan Zindabad Force’s network behind attacks on law enforcement and sensitive installations in Punjab
