Overview

  • Vanlaldailova, Lalmuanpuia and Lalrinchhunga were arrested on December 6, 2024 after coordinated raids in Mizoram recovered a cache of weapons, ammunition and explosives from their homes.
  • The case was registered in December 2023 and has seen a main chargesheet in July 2024, a first supplementary filing in November 2024 and this second supplementary chargesheet in May 2025.
  • Vanlaldailova allegedly misused his licensed arms dealership in Serchhip to funnel weapons into insurgency-affected regions while his co-accused managed procurement, delivery and illicit firearm manufacture.
  • Authorities link the network to insurgent groups in Manipur, where ethnic clashes between Meitei and Kuki-Zo communities have claimed hundreds of lives and displaced thousands since May 2023.
  • The three have been booked under multiple provisions of the Indian Penal Code, Arms Act 1959, Explosive Substances Act 1908 and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act 1967.
