NIA Arrests Key Accused in Amritsar Temple Grenade Case in Bihar

Investigators say the suspect received a four-grenade consignment, supplying one to the March attackers under overseas direction.

Overview

  • Sharanjit Kumar, alias Sunny, was tracked to Gopalpur in Sherghati, Gaya, using human and technical intelligence and arrested in a late-night raid with local police support.
  • He allegedly received four grenades in Batala on March 1 and handed one to the two accused attackers just days before the strike.
  • The NIA identifies the assailants as Gursidak Singh and Vishal Gill, stating they acted on instructions from handlers operating from Europe, the United States and Canada.
  • After evading earlier searches in Batala, the accused was taken to Chandigarh for interrogation following his arrest.
