NHTSA expands probe into 709,000 Ford vehicles over engine failure risks

U.S. regulators are investigating reports of engine failures in Ford's F-150, Explorer, Bronco, Edge, Lincoln Nautilus, and Aviator.
The probe covers 2021-2022 models equipped with 2.7L and 3.0L EcoBoost engines.
Ford has received over 800 complaints of sudden engine failure related to faulty valves.
The investigation has been upgraded to an engineering analysis, a step before a potential recall.
No crashes or injuries have been reported so far related to the engine failure issue.
