Overview
- Winter COVID-19 boosters are offered to people aged 75 and over, older adult care home residents, and those aged six months to 74 who are immunosuppressed.
- Flu vaccine eligibility widened on 1 October to everyone aged 65 and over, adults 18 to 65 with long-term conditions, care home residents, carers, household contacts of immunocompromised people, and frontline health and social care workers.
- Earlier flu cohorts from September include pregnant women and children via GP practices, maternity services, and school immunisation teams.
- Appointments can be booked through the NHS App, online, GP practices or by calling 119, with jabs delivered at GP surgeries, selected pharmacies, schools, maternity services and care homes.
- The NHS has issued over 12 million email invitations and is running regional drives such as West Yorkshire’s “Get Strong, Get Vaccinated,” with RSV vaccination also recommended for pregnant women and older adults.
