NHL Teams to Wear Helmet Decals Honoring Gaudreau Brothers
All 32 teams will display the tribute throughout October to commemorate Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau, who were killed in a tragic accident.
- The helmet decals feature a 'G' flanked by Johnny Gaudreau's No. 13 and Matthew Gaudreau's No. 21.
- The tribute will be worn by NHL players starting with the season opener in Prague, Czech Republic, on October 8.
- Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau were killed on August 29 by a suspected drunk driver while bicycling in New Jersey.
- The Columbus Blue Jackets will also wear a No. 13 patch on their uniforms for the entire season.
- The Blue Jackets and other teams have held tribute videos, moments of silence, and candlelight vigils in honor of the brothers.
