NHL and WHA Defenseman John Miszuk Dies at 84

  • The NHL Alumni Association announced that Miszuk died peacefully on July 27 with his family at his side.
  • He appeared in parts of six NHL seasons from 1963 to 1970 with Detroit, Chicago, Philadelphia and Minnesota.
  • Miszuk posted a career-best 22 points in 74 games on the Flyers’ 1967–68 expansion roster.
  • He added three seasons in the WHA with the Michigan Stags/Baltimore Blades and Calgary Cowboys, totaling 72 points in 214 games.
  • After retirement, he and his family opened several Tim Hortons franchises in Hamilton and engaged in local philanthropy.
