Travellers from Delhi could directly access the new road without using the already crowded Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, which handles nearly five lakh vehicles daily — with around two lakh entering from DND and others via Chilla border, Kalindi Kunj, and sectors like 15, 16, 18, and 37. Overview

  • The proposed 30-kilometre expressway would run from Delhi’s Kalindi Kunj to Pari Chowk along the Yamuna embankment to relieve pressure on the NoidaGreater Noida Expressway.
  • Noida Authority granted in-principle approval in March and Gautam Budh Nagar MP Mahesh Sharma has pressed for NHAI to take over construction.
  • Union minister Nitin Gadkari confirmed there is no shortage of funds, citing ₹1.2 lakh crore of ongoing Delhi-NCR projects and ₹60,000 crore already completed.
  • NHAI originally withdrew support over delays in declaring Yamuna Pushta Road a national highway but is now reconsidering the project’s classification and funding.
  • Final clearance depends on detailed project approval and environmental clearances ahead of Jewar Airport’s targeted September opening.
