NFT Weekly Sales Fall to $129.6 Million as Participation Climbs

  • Buyer numbers rose 18% to about 542,000 and sellers increased 17% to roughly 385,000, with transactions up 12% to 1.81 million.
  • Ethereum remained the largest venue with $54.5 million in sales as reported wash trading climbed 43%, while Polygon held second with $18.9 million after a 16% gain.
  • Courtyard led weekly collection rankings at $17.6 million, CryptoPunks placed second with $7.1 million and captured the five highest individual sales, and Pudgy Penguins jumped 63% to $5.2 million for third.
  • Pudgy Penguins CEO Luca Netz praised BAYC’s early holder-reward model and cautioned that rapid expansion and frequent mints can undermine long-term value.
