Overview

• Four pairs of special steam and diesel rides and four daily diesel joyrides will begin operations from September 19 under the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway.
• Darjeeling–Kurseong Festive Special Steam Ride runs Saturdays from September 20 to November 1, with the return service on Sundays from September 21 to November 2.
• Sunset and Sunrise Special Steam Rides on the Kurseong–Mahanadi–Kurseong route operate on Saturdays and Sundays respectively over the same September–November window.
• The ‘Tea, Timber Special Diesel Ride’ between Siliguri Junction and Rangtong runs every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from September 19 to November 2.
• Four Special Diesel Joyrides between Darjeeling and Ghum run daily from September 20 to January 5, 2026 with three first-class coaches, and detailed timings and bookings are available via IRCTC and NFR’s social channels.
