NFL Owners Approve Limited Flex Scheduling for Thursday Night Games, Pass Emergency QB Rule

The NFL will have the ability to flex two Thursday night games between Weeks 13 to 17 with at least 28 days notice.
Teams will not play more than two Thursday night games and will not be required to switch from Sunday to Thursday more than once.
The resolution passed 24-8 on a trial basis for only the 2023 season.
The move benefits Amazon's streaming rights but received pushback from fans and owners concerned with attendance and logistics.
The NFL also passed a rule allowing an emergency third quarterback on game days in response to the 49ers losing quarterbacks in the NFC Championship.
