NFL Fines 49ers’ Kyle Juszczyk Twice for Illegal Helmet Use, Totaling $20,288

The penalties stem from two helmet-use violations identified in the NFL’s Gameday Accountability report.

  • Juszczyk received two identical fines of $10,144 for unnecessary roughness/use of the helmet in the wild-card win over the Eagles, a total of $20,288.
  • One violation occurred at 4:10 of the second quarter on a lead block that appeared to result in helmet-to-helmet contact with defensive end Jaelan Phillips.
  • The second incident came at 2:05 of the third quarter after a 27-yard reception, when Juszczyk lowered his helmet and collided with safety Reed Blankenship.
  • These are postseason fines recorded by the league, and Juszczyk had not been fined during the regular season.
  • He remains eligible to face the Seahawks, may appeal to an officer jointly appointed by the NFL and NFLPA, and the fines are directed to the Professional Athletes Foundation and the NFL Foundation.
