Overview

  • The NFL confirmed that Lamb will not face a fine for drawing an unsportsmanlike-conduct penalty and contact during the Aug. 9 preseason game against the Rams.
  • Lamb had stepped into the white-painted area reserved for officials when side judge Anthony Jeffries inadvertently collided with him while chasing a deep pass.
  • Referee Alex Moore called the incident a “rare occurrence” and stressed that the white-zone rule exists to protect officials’ safety on the sideline.
  • The play produced a 51-yard Joe Milton III pass to Jonathan Mingo that was wiped out by a Rams pass interference flag before the collision.
  • Lamb emerged uninjured, practiced without issue afterward but has been held out of the Cowboys’ next preseason game against the Ravens as a precaution.
