Nexus Mods, a major modding platform, has removed a controversial mod for Baldur's Gate 3 that aimed to reduce diversity in the game by altering LGBTQ+ characters and relationships.
The mod, part of the 'No Alphabets' modpack, included changes such as transforming a female character into a male to change a homosexual relationship into a heterosexual one, and altering a trans character to be a cis man.
The 'No Alphabets' modpack claims to 'match medieval status quo' by eliminating all LGBTQ+ content from Baldur’s Gate 3, a stance that has been criticized for its lack of historical accuracy and inclusivity.
Nexus Mods has stated that it is 'for inclusivity, for diversity' and will take action against mods that are deliberately against these principles.
This is not the first time Nexus Mods has removed content for similar reasons, having previously removed mods for Starfield and Marvel’s Spider-Man that removed pronouns and pride flags.
