Newborn Baby Elsa Found in Shopping Bag Now Safe; Police Seek Mother

Baby Elsa, found in a shopping bag in East London, is now safe and in the care of Newham Council.
Police have obtained CCTV footage of a woman believed to be the mother, who was seen entering the Greenway from the High Street South entrance around 8.45pm on the day Elsa was found.
A witness, believed to be male and wearing a dark coloured hooded coat with a backpack, may have seen the woman.
Police believe Elsa was born after a concealed pregnancy and was not a service user of local hospitals, social workers or charities.
Chief Superintendent Simon Crick has appealed directly to Elsa's mother to come forward, expressing concern for her welfare and offering support.
