Overview

  • RNZ, New Zealand's public radio broadcaster, found nearly two dozen Reuters and BBC articles it republished had been edited inappropriately, with some given a pro-Russian slant.
  • The edits were made to articles about Israeli politics and tensions over Taiwan.
  • RNZ has put the web editor responsible for the changes on leave and apologized.
  • RNZ is auditing hundreds of stories and so far found 22 were edited inappropriately.
  • The employee responsible for the edits has not been fired but RNZ has started an "employment process".
