• Police charged Jahmar Stewart, 32, with attempted robbery and assault after an off-duty NYPD officer shot him during a scuffle on an LIRR platform between tracks 18 and 19 around 7 p.m. Wednesday.
• Stewart remains in stable condition at Bellevue Hospital as the NYPD Force Investigation unit reviews the firearm discharge involving the off-duty officer.
• Law enforcement sources say Stewart has multiple prior arrests and a last known address at a Brooklyn shelter, and police activity briefly canceled at least one Ronkonkoma-bound LIRR train.
• In a separate case, Queens prosecutors arraigned Luis Pallchisaca, 21, on attempted murder, assault and weapon charges in the unprovoked Sept. 21 stabbing on a No. 7 train; a judge set bail at $500,000 cash or $1 million bond.
• Prosecutors said Pallchisaca told detectives he recognized himself in surveillance images but claimed he only tried to scare the victim, who remains in critical condition with a breathing tube following throat and back wounds.
