New York Snowstorm Grounds LaGuardia Departures and Disrupts Hundreds of Flights Across Region

Flight trackers reported thousands of delays nationwide as forecasters warn of a sharp freeze Monday.

Temperatures in the east are expected to drop by 40 degrees overnight. More than 3,000 flights within, into or out of the United States were canceled on Monday, according to industry tracker FlightAware, including nearly 800 at Chicago O'Hare International, one of the country's busiest airports.
