Overview
- Filmmakers Steven Rosenbaum and Pamela Yoder donated the collection after safeguarding it for more than two decades.
- The materials include more than 500 hours from the week of the attacks and over 700 hours documenting the planning, design, and construction of the 9/11 Memorial & Museum.
- More than 130 New Yorkers contributed first-person videos gathered through a public call for footage, and most of the recordings have never been released.
- The Manuscripts and Archives Division will preserve and process the archive, with curators planning privacy-minded structures of safety for onsite viewing and later online access.
- To mark the gift, the library will host a Sept. 11 screening of 7 Days in September followed by a conversation with the filmmakers and historian Kenneth T. Jackson moderated by Kurt Andersen.
