Overview

• The investigation began in February after Fieldstone Middle School students reported online coercion to a school resource officer and administrators.
• About six victims have come forward so far, all under 16, and investigators say there could be potentially several hundred more who have not yet reported.
• The accused student, also under 16, was arrested and charged with three felonies: use of a child in a sexual performance, promoting a sexual performance by a child, and possessing a sexual performance by a child.
• Police say the perpetrator posed online as a girl to solicit explicit images, then demanded more images or gift cards typically under $100 under threat of sharing the material.
