Overview

• U.S. District Judge Anne M. Nardacci imposed a 120-month prison term and five years of supervised release for Mufid Fawaz Alkhader’s December 2023 attack.
• Alkhader pleaded guilty in February to conspiring to straw-purchase a Kel-Tec shotgun, obstructing the free exercise of religion with a dangerous weapon, and brandishing a firearm in a crime of violence.
• On Dec. 7, 2023, he fired two shots into the air outside Temple Israel of Albany while shouting “Free Palestine!” and tried to rip down an Israeli flag as children and congregants sheltered in place.
• Andrew Miller previously received a 14-month sentence after admitting he illegally bought the shotgun on Alkhader’s behalf.
