New York Islanders to Open Two Public Outdoor Rinks at Belmont Park

- The facility, called The Park at UBS Arena, will be in the paddock area of the historic racetrack, which is undergoing a two-year renovation.
- One rink, sponsored by Northwell Health, will host a series of four-by-four pond hockey tournaments following USA Hockey guidelines, catering to youth and adult divisions at various competitive levels.
- The second rink, called Isles Pond, will boast a synthetic technology created by Global Synthetic Ice, ensuring season-long accessibility. The Islanders plan to host Learn to Skate, Learn to Play and Try Hockey for free programs on that surface.
- The facility will be widely available for hockey fans and skating members of the public as 90-minute skate sessions will be offered on both ponds.
