Overview
- Board of Elections data show 732,866 early ballots were cast Oct. 25–Nov. 2, the highest pre–Election Day total for a non-presidential year since early voting began in 2019.
 - Voters ages 44 and older accounted for 58% of early participants, while more than 250,000 people voted over the Nov. 1–2 weekend as younger turnout spiked.
 - Brooklyn logged the most early votes with 243,737, followed by Manhattan at 212,679 and Queens at 166,519, with the Bronx at 58,661 and Staten Island at 53,721.
 - Participation rates varied sharply by borough, with 16.8% of active voters checking in early on Staten Island compared with 7.95% in the Bronx.
 - Campaigns are drawing contrasting takeaways as polls still show Zohran Mamdani ahead and Andrew Cuomo narrowing the gap while arguing the scale and age profile of turnout could upend projections.
