  • New Jersey’s voter registration deadline is Tuesday, Oct. 14, and online registration requires a driver’s license or non‑driver ID or a Social Security number with a digital signature.
  • In New York, the last day to register and to request a mail or online ballot is Oct. 25; in‑person ballot requests are accepted through Nov. 3.
  • New York mail ballots must be postmarked by Nov. 4 and can be received through Nov. 12, and voters may also hand‑deliver ballots during early voting or on Election Day before polls close.
  • Early in‑person voting runs Oct. 25–Nov. 2 in both states, and New York’s Early Mail Voter Act allows any registered voter to request an early mail ballot without an excuse, with traditional absentee options still available for those out of county, ill, disabled, or primary caregivers.
