Overview
- Met Éireann issued Status Yellow rain warnings for Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Cork and Waterford from Monday 1pm to Tuesday 9am, and for Dublin, Louth and Wicklow from Monday 9pm to Tuesday 1pm, citing localised and river flooding with high tides.
- The UK Met Office has a yellow rain warning from Monday into Tuesday for Bournemouth, Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Plymouth, Somerset and Torbay, with risks including transport disruption, road closures and possible power cuts.
- The Environment Agency warned of flooding in Dorset, including the Upper and Lower Frome, Cerne Valley and Hooke groundwater areas, and councils reiterated guidance not to drive or walk through floodwater.
- ESB said a controlled ‘pass-through’ from the Poulaphouca reservoir may be required due to limited storage, and planners are preparing mitigation for potential impacts downstream on Clane and Newbridge.
- The Irish Government is moving to raise emergency business supports to €100,000 as the NECG remains on high alert, with road closures and property flooding still reported in parts of Wexford and Kilkenny.
