Overview
- Mexico City’s Metro will run 5:00–23:00 on Dec. 31 (last departures 22:30) and a holiday schedule 7:00–24:00 on Jan. 1, when bicycles are allowed under the “Tu bici viaja en Metro” program.
- CDMX Metrobús will operate lines 2–6 from 4:00 to 21:00 on Dec. 31 and extend Line 1 service to 01:00 on Jan. 1; all lines will run 5:00–00:00 on New Year’s Day, subject to traffic conditions.
- Peru’s DS No. 042-2025-PCM confirms no long holiday Dec. 29–31, designates Jan. 1 as a national holiday, and makes Jan. 2 a non-working day for the public sector; major banks will close Jan. 1 after shortened hours on Dec. 31, and supermarket hours vary by chain and location.
- Argentina ordered an administrative asueto for Dec. 31 with essential services on duty, Buenos Aires public services will run on limited holiday schedules, and Salta’s Decree No. 899 sets early commercial closings on Dec. 31 (most retail until 17:00).
- In the United States, Walmart and many Target locations will open on Jan. 1, Costco and Sam’s Club will be closed, and banks, courts, USPS, FedEx and UPS will not operate on the federal holiday.
