New Tool Simplifies Google Photos to iCloud Transfers

Apple and Google collaborate to enhance data portability with a direct transfer service.

Users can now transfer entire photo libraries or specific albums directly from Google Photos to iCloud.
The new tool is a part of the Data Transfer Project, an initiative promoting data portability between platforms.
Original files remain in Google Photos unless manually deleted after the transfer.
The service is available in over 240 countries and regions, excluding child and Managed Apple ID accounts.
Transfers may take several hours to days depending on the size of the photo and video collections.
