New Suspects Named in Trey Wright Killing as Planned-Ambush Case Widens

Prosecutors are invoking South Carolina’s “hand of one is the hand of all” doctrine to charge participants.

Overview

  • Authorities last week identified two additional suspects — Braylyn O’Neil Thompson, 17, and Jaden Blaze Auclaire, 18 — as the investigation continues to expand beyond the initial group of teens.
  • Devan Raper, 19, is charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime and remains jailed without bond.
  • Gianna Helene Kistenmacher, 17, is charged including accessory before the fact after investigators said she brought Raper to the scene knowing he was armed, and she is out on bond under house arrest pending court dates.
  • Other accused participants include Hunter Matthew Kendall, 18, Corrinne Elizabeth Belviso, 18, and Sydney Marissa Kearns, 17, with Kendall held without bond and several others released on bond.
  • Investigators say the confrontation was recorded by a teen and began as a dispute over a girl, while the victim’s mother says her son believed he was headed for a fistfight rather than gunfire.
