New 'Star Wars: Ahsoka' Series Sets August Release, Features Familiar Faces and New Threats

Ahsoka Tano is returning to live-action in an eight-episode series debuting on Disney+ August 23 that follows her investigation of a threat to the galaxy in the aftermath of the Galactic Empire.
The show will see Ahsoka joining forces with allies like Hera Syndulla and Sabine Wren, the latter welding Ezra Bridger's green lightsaber, to face villains including Grand Admiral Thrawn and the mysterious Baylan Skoll.
Actor Lars Mikkelsen says his version of Thrawn may differ in some ways from the character's animated incarnation in Star Wars Rebels, though he's keeping the voice.
Show creator Dave Filoni has hinted Ahsoka starts the story as a "wanderer" who must confront her past as Anakin Skywalker's former Jedi apprentice.
The series wraps up plot threads from Rebels and ushers in new challenges for Ahsoka in a post-Empire galaxy.
