Chris Olave, the top wide receiver for the New Orleans Saints, was arrested and charged with reckless driving on Monday night after police observed him speeding at 70 mph in a 35 mph zone in a New Orleans suburb.
This is Olave's second speeding violation in recent months, as he was issued a speeding ticket in August for driving 54 mph in a posted 35 mph zone.
During the arrest, Olave tried to leverage his professional status, telling the arresting officer, 'I play for the Saints, man', but the officer was not swayed by his status.
The Saints organization confirmed that they are aware of the situation but declined to comment further on Olave's arrest.
Regardless of his off-field issues, Olave leads the Saints this season with 39 receptions for 471 yards and has scored one touchdown.
