Overview

• In a video posted June 1, a man with facial tattoos identifying himself as Antoine Massey denies masterminding the May 16 escape and claims he was “let out” of the Orleans Justice Center rather than breaking out.
• Based on tips from relatives, Louisiana State Police and New Orleans police executed a June 2 search of a Fairgrounds-area residence tied to the video, recovering clothing but not Massey.
• Deputy U.S. Marshals and other federal agents have confirmed they are investigating the clip’s authenticity and have urged Massey to surrender to potentially avoid further charges.
• Eight of the ten inmates who exploited a hole in a cell wall have been recaptured, while Massey and Derrick Groves remain fugitives under a $50,000 reward for information leading to their arrest.
