New Mexico Judge Issues Arrest Warrant for Timothy Busfield on Child Sex Abuse Charges

The case centers on allegations from twin child actors on Fox’s The Cleaning Lady who reported inappropriate touching during production.

Overview

  • The warrant charges the actor-director with two counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor and one count of child abuse; as of the latest reports, there is no record he has been taken into custody.
  • An Albuquerque police affidavit alleges grooming behavior, including asking the boys to call him “Uncle Tim,” unwanted tickling, and touching described by one child as involving his private areas at ages 7 and 8.
  • The investigation began after University of New Mexico Hospital staff raised concerns in November 2024; one child later disclosed abuse to a counselor and pediatrician, and has been diagnosed with PTSD and anxiety.
  • In a phone conversation with police, Busfield said it was possible he picked up or tickled the boys in a ‘playful’ setting, said he did not recall doing so, and suggested the family sought revenge over casting changes.
  • Warner Bros. says it will cooperate with law enforcement after a 2025 internal review that it said could not corroborate a separate complaint, while police noted difficulty obtaining the studio’s investigative report.
